About

It is a privilege to work with my clients. Counseling is a space where you are able to be vulnerable and talk about things you find difficult to speak about to anyone else. I absolutely love building connections with people and I take it very seriously to create a safe space for you.

Growing up in today’s world, in this social environment, is difficult. I want to be true and acknowledge that, and not dismiss it. The experiences of previous generations are very different from the experiences of this generation. There’s a lot going on in society today, and I want to work with you as you explore how you want to show up. I’m here to learn from you while still helping you identify issues that we can work on and find coping skills for.

I love working with teens and young adults. I believe that your youth is the perfect time to work on issues, be it mental health concerns, self-development, identity issues or growth. As a child, you don’t have too much control over your environment or what you want to do or how you want to do things. Now is the perfect time to learn about what you can control, and who you want to be.

As an immigrant myself, I understand that everyone’s experiences are different and all still valid. I aim to create a space where we can explore the influence of various cultures on your life, while still not assuming that you are solely coming to therapy because there is conflict between generations in your family, or difficulties navigating a new society. I grew up in a society where mental health was almost a taboo. Maybe you also struggle with feeling like it is safe to reach out. I am here to advocate for your mental health and help you create change.

Change is a process. It does not happen overnight, as much as we want it to. Sometimes you go 10 steps forward and take 2 steps back, and that’s okay, that’s the process of change. My job is to figure out what works for you and work with you to make it happen. I don’t come in with a standardized plan to fit everyone. It’s about what you need and who you are, and that’s what matters the most.

I received my graduate degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. I have experience working with clients who have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and stress. While I integrate several therapeutic perspectives, I am specifically trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy which seeks to identify and change harmful thought patterns and behaviors.
