Insurance & Payment Information

At Catalyst Counseling, we know that understanding insurance can feel overwhelming. We aim to make things as clear and supportive as possible so you can focus on getting the care you need. Below you’ll find details about which services can be billed to insurance, which cannot, and what payment options are available.

Individual Therapy (Can Be Billed to Insurance)

Catalyst Counseling is in network with the following insurance plans for individual therapy:

  • Premera / Lifewise

  • First Choice Health

  • Kaiser (Core & PPO)

  • Aetna

  • Medicaid Apple Health (most plans)

  • Medicare (most plans)

  • BCBS / Blue Cross Blue Shield / Anthem

  • Regence

  • Molina — coming soon

  • Ambetter — coming soon

If your plan isn’t listed

No problem! We are able to provide a monthly statement (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

Many of our clients receive 20–60% reimbursement, though this varies by plan. We encourage you to call your insurer to ask about your out-of-network mental-health benefits, including:

  • Your reimbursement rate

  • Whether your deductible must be met

  • Whether telehealth is covered

HSA & FSA Cards

We gladly accept HSA and FSA cards for all therapy services. These accounts can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost.

Rates for Out-of-Network Sessions

For clients using out-of-network reimbursement or paying privately, the standard 53-minute individual session is $145.
You pay the full fee at the time of service (your HSA/FSA card may be used), and we provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance. Your insurer will reimburse you directly based on your plan.

Executive Function Coaching (Not Eligible for Insurance Billing)

Executive function coaching is an educational and skills-based service, not a clinical treatment. Because of this, insurance companies do not cover coaching, and we are unable to bill or provide superbills for this service.  You may be able to use your HSA or FSA card for coaching, depending on your plan. Many clients do, but we encourage you to check with your HSA/FSA provider for confirmation.

We recognize that coaching is an investment in your growth, confidence, and daily functioning, and our coaches work closely with you to ensure you get the most out of your sessions.

Couples & Family Therapy (Not Eligible for Insurance Billing)

While couples and family counseling are deeply meaningful services, insurance companies do not cover them in the format we provide.

Here’s why:

  • Insurance requires a mental-health diagnosis assigned to one insured individual.

  • Our clinicians treat the relationship system itself, not one partner’s diagnosis.

  • Because the diagnosis applies to the relationship rather than a single client, insurance will not recognize or reimburse these services.

For this reason, we do not bill insurance for couples or family therapy and do not offer superbills, even for out-of-network reimbursement.

You may be able to use HSA or FSA funds for couples or family counseling, depending on your plan.

We understand that relational health is an important investment, and our therapists are committed to helping you make meaningful progress together.
