Teens

Teens

Teens are awesome. Being this age can be rough, hopeful, frustrating, encouraging, and it always comes with big emotions. It’s a critical time when you need to have someone supportive in your corner.

Medicare

Medicare

We are proud to be Medicare providers. Accepting Medicare means we get to work with some of the most incredible people on the planet.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy means attuning to you. Maybe when you come to therapy, it is absolutely the most important part of your identity and it’s front and center in our discussions. Or maybe it’s just a part of you that you don’t want minimized or forgotten, but it doesn’t need to be the focus of conversations. You lead the way.

Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity

Being a neurodiversity-affirming therapist means that we start with you. We see you as a whole person. Rather than assuming our job is to make your life easier by modeling you into a perfect “normal” that doesn’t exist, we focus on you. In our space, we recognize that neurotypical society can feel stifling or confusing or painful. We want to hear your voice – what do you want? What are your dreams? We want to know where you feel distress and where you want to change.

Cultural Humility

Cultural Humility

It can be really hard to find a therapist who gets where you’re coming from, who shares that one common experience that can explain how you’re feeling. Sometimes, a lot of people do not want to pursue therapy because they are worried about having to explain their context so much that there is no room for actual healing to happen. While we are all a product of our experiences and environment, there is a universal need for connection and healing.

Teletherapy is often a great alternative to coming for in person counseling. If you're juggling childcare or caregiving, a busy schedule, or you live far away, teletherapy could be a great fit for you. Our services are available across Washington State.

About Us

At Catalyst Counseling, we believe that all life is deserving of respect and dignity. We value safety, curiosity, accessibility, and accountability.

You have found a great place to grow.

We equally value clinical competence and cultural humility. Our clinicians receive regular post-graduate training in issues that impact our clients, and we consider lifelong learning to be a foundation of good practice. We are active in our communities and often give trainings in our areas of expertise. We make a commitment to live the values of liberation and cultural humility in our practice.

Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy

We are a safe place to process and find your center in this ever-changing world. We empower individuals to overcome personal obstacles to improve their lives and relationships. Using clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, we strive to help individuals achieve their goals. Our work is grounded in the principles of liberation and cultural humility.

Couples Therapy
Couples Therapy

A strong partnership depends on a commitment to shared values even when partners have their own needs and wants. And while every relationship is unique, having a safe and secure place to speak openly is universally important.

Family Therapy
Family Therapy

Catalyst offers support for your family relationships. Through family counseling, you can gain insight into your family dynamics, resolve conflict, prevent future arguments, and improve trust.

Liberation

We commit to actively living our values by doing the following:

Being Curious

Having ongoing conversations that are hard, vulnerable, and brave.  This includes regular training, mentorship, consultation, and engagement with our community.

Being Accountable

Catalyst staff will acknowledge and address the intersectional parts of our identity that contain privilege, especially the parts that benefit from an oppressive system. We will accept responsibility for harm that we do, whether intentional or not, and take concrete steps toward repairing harm.

Being Intentional

We strive to offer services that reflect and honor the community we work in, in part by hiring clinicians who have humility, awareness, and willingness to engage in anti-oppressive work.

Creating Safety

All clients will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect as an individual. Gender identity will be respected, and you will be referred to by your name and pronouns. We will encourage discussions of intersections of marginalization both in and out of the therapy room.
